International Collaboration for full-endoscopic spine surgery in #Zimbabwe 🇿🇼
🥼🩺Last week, we had the opportunity to support Dr. Valentine Mandizvidza and his team at Milton Park Medical Centre in Harare, Zimbabwe, alongside Alexis Montes-Martinez, Head of the Neurosurgery Section at Hochtaunus-Kliniken Bad Homburg.
Demand for modern, less invasive spine treatments is rising #Endoscopic techniques offer shorter hospital stays, faster recovery, and lower infection risks – crucial for healthcare systems with limited resources. Germany has about one neurosurgeon per 100,000 people (Source: Berufsverband Deutscher Neurochirurgen). Zimbabwe has roughly one per two million, though local training programs are improving this.
“With the right technology and skills, Zimbabwe can become a hub for cutting-edge spinal treatments,” says Montes-Martinez. Dr. Mandizvidza adds, “This collaboration empowers our local teams to deliver world-class care and positions Zimbabwe as a regional leader, attracting health tourism for uniportal endoscopic spine surgery, thanks to #RIWOspine.”

OCM 2025 Cadaveric Course in Jakarta 🇮🇩
We had the great pleasure of participating with six Endoscopic Towers in the OCM 2025 Cadaveric Course, held from September 16th to 17th.
Participants could explore all endoscopic techniques, from uniportal full-endoscopic spine surgery to biportal spine surgery.
